Songs From An Open Road (in association with GIAF) present Mise FRESHIN’ (live)

A night of new Irish beats featuring Cork-based improvised experimental group Fixity, lead by Dan Walsh on drums with a live show based on the breakthrough hip hop instrumental album Endtroducing, by DJ Shadow.

Opening the night-time event will be Suli, a Nigerian-born, Co Galway raised singer. Her post-genre musical background mixed with modern day trap beats make for a unique sound.

Knitting the show together will be DJ and musical mix master of Mise FRESHIN' RTE Radio 1 broadcasts, DJ Jack Dempsey McMahon [AKA DJackulate], and ahead of the night time proceedings for what promises to be an evening of eclectic music, entertainment and education will be a Galway International Arts Festival First Thoughts talk special with internationally renowned photographer, film maker, DJ, and chronicler of hip hop music and culture Brian Cross [AKA B+] who will have a spectacular visual exhibition featured during this year's festival.

MC for both events will be the mighty Mr Mise FRESHIN' himself Ray 'Wingnut' Cuddihy (RTÉ Radio 1) and a taste of some hip-hop related culture in An Taibhdhearc's cafe foyer will link both the First Thoughts talk and the live night-time performances for audiences attending.
